Location: the hotel was near to all Waihi shops and a BP stadion and centre. The breakfast had a great selection of food, like coffee and tea.

We had the best time ever exploring Waihi. We hit up the surf at Waihi Beach and caught some epic waves. Then we checked out the cool art scene at the Waihi Arts Centre and Museum. It was sick being able to surf the web at the hotel and share all our epic adventures with our friends. Golden Cross Hotel made Waihi adventure central!
The only thing we wished for at Golden Cross Hotel was a rocking party scene for us young party animals. A happening lounge or bar where we could meet other cool peeps and have a crazy night would have taken our trip to the next level.

Recently stayed at Golden Cross for a short trip. Great location and reasonably priced for a backpacker vibe. Loved the pool table and communal area, plus the kitchen was a bonus for cooking our own meals. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, and good TV and internet facilities. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms. Also, close to the Waihi gold mine, definitely worth checking out! good value for money, would stay here again.
Can recommend this hotel.

The Golden Cross Hotel was the perfect spot for our epic adventure in Waihi. We were just a stone's throw away from all the sick attractions Waihi had to offer. Whether it was shredding gnarly waves at the beach or exploring the epic hiking trails, we could do it all from our dope base at the hotel. Plus, the Wi-Fi was on point, so we could stay connected and share our sick adventures with the world.
The only thing we wished for was a sick party zone at the hotel. We're talking about a banging dance floor, sick beats, and an epic DJ to bring the party vibes.

The hotel had a unique and charming atmosphere, with the quirky decorations and beautiful gardens. The rooms were tidy and the beds were reasonably comfy, and all of this at a great price. an absolutely fantastic stay with so many positive surprises!

We recently stayed at the Golden Cross and had a wonderful experience. the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room size was just right. We appreciated the clean bathroom facilities and the hot showers. the old building had a lot of character, with beautiful displays of antiques in the main bar and reception area. We also enjoyed spending time in the lovely lounge space and exploring the pretty garden. Another great aspect was the decent size car park, which was especially convenient for us as we were able to securely lock up our bikes inside the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. Cons: Nothing all good! 👍.
